FEBRUARY 2

“And that is why…erm…erm…the…the African urbanisation is the way it is.” I groaned internally, I screwed it all up. This was supposed to a walk through the park.

My blazer felt heavy as I crawled to my seat. We royally messed up the presentation and I was too tired to think about the score we’d earned.

It was the second day of the month and I should be strong enough to not let it ruin everything else. Pfft! Who was I kidding? The next two hours of class dragged on as I sulked like a baby who had lost its candy.

Electric waves surged through me and I sat up, opening my jotter. A deep breath, I dissected half my attention to my lecturer’s lull and the other half into creating a fool-proof plan.

I was going to start afresh: go home immediately after class, rest, cook, eat and go for taekwondo. Excitement brimmed in my chest and I smiled at my plan, only to remember that I have to submit a form in my faculty.

Two hours later, I was sweaty, tired and aching for my bed. I had displaced my room key and gotten locked outside. Fortunately, my kind roommate waited at the school gate to give me hers.

Jumping on my bed, I resolved to rest and take things slowly. Today, I learnt that things do not always go as planned but it’s okay to not fret about it and just rest sometimes.

I’m definitely looking forward to what tomorrow has for me — hopefully blessings, abundance, joy and fun.
